WHOLE SCRIPT SIG
Participation guidelines
Before you submit your finished screenplay to the group, you must:
- Be a paid member of the AWG
- Have participated in three Whole Script SIGs
Why?
- You'll get more from the Whole Script SIG if you know how it operates before you submit your work.
- You'll get to know the talent in the SIG before you have to cast members to read parts in your screenplay.
- You'll know the kind of critiques offered by SIG members, so you'll be better able to use the criticism you receive. You may find some critics more perceptive, more experienced, or more helpful than others, for your particular work.
- It's only fair. The group wants to benefit from your expertise as much as you want to benefit from ours.
- You'll learn more tricks and critical techniques the more you participate, so you'll have a chance to apply what you've learned before submitting to the group - or to agents and producers.
Related expenses
And, last but not least, you might want to save up for the costs of submitting your work. Fifteen to eighteen copies of your screenplay, with front and back covers, collated, punched, and bound with brass fasteners, can cost $85 dollars or more.
You're also responsible for bringing the drinks and snacks (juices, soft drinks, cupcakes, cake, pie, cookies, etc.) when your work is being read.
